‘Early Sunday Morning’ by Ken Watts is a large pencil drawing on a 360 inches by 29 ½ inch roll of fabriano drawing paper, using Faber Castell drawing pencils 9H to 9B and fixed with fixative (It took thirteen large cans) on show in the Shaun Project Space Ashburne House 12th to 14th March.. Made in 1996, drawing made from 72 photographic studies, for an exhibition of paintings and drawing on shops and shopping, at the then Bede Gallery, Jarrow. The idea behind the drawing is a tribute to Edward Hopper painting of the same name.
